Create your own design quickly and easily
What started out as a quote generator eventually became a drawing tool for landscapers. Teunis van de Pol is owner of garDsign and explains the latest developments of that tool and what customers get out of it. "This drawing tool makes it possible to quickly and easily create your own garden design."
GarDsign provides several types of tools that landscapers can use to communicate with their customers. "Our garden design tool is the most important, because there's still a lot underneath that. Think about watering, lighting and planting planning. That's all linked within the same design tool. That makes it very easy for landscaping customers to share all their requirements."
That's not the only thing Van de Pol has to offer gardeners. He also makes knowledge available to the green market, in the form of a knowledge base. "We offer our own products as an online training course. In addition, we will also soon start giving advice. That is aimed at the business of landscapers, where we support the business side."
Soon garDsign will be at the Groene Sector Vakbeurs. What exactly are they going to show there? "This year we have mainly been busy making all the models more beautiful. The models in our design tool now also translate very easily into a 3D world. That makes it easier than a flat drawing."
At the previous trade show, Van de Pol brought a voting booth where people could vote for features they thought were most important. "That was a nod to the elections at the time, but it gave us an awful lot. All those improvements are now in the updated tool. That's why we're going to ask the same question again this year: if you get to choose all by yourself, what do you think is most important? We will then adjust our development agenda for next year accordingly."
To listen to users even better, garDsign is going to launch a user group. "We will invite people again after the fair, for a separate brainstorming session. We will then show what we have heard at the fair and what we already want to adapt. What is still missing? That way we can be sure that we can fully tailor our improvements to the needs of the green sector."
Van de Pol emphasizes that garDsign is not at the fair to sell. "We are there to share knowledge with visitors and to see what is going on among our customers. That's what we need to improve our products. Maybe we find out that we need to make a whole new tool, or that further development is needed. We did the same last year after the fair, so we are very curious to hear all the ideas from the fair visitors."
