Successful design tool got nice update

Originating from the need to have a program with which he could quickly realize a good garden design and corresponding quotation, Teunis van de Pol, founder and director of garDsign, developed a software program. "At our infrastructure and landscaping company, we wanted to save time on the quotation process. Especially in the spring when we receive both a lot of work and a lot of requests." The tool turned out to work so well and be so useful that after a while Van de Pol decided to put it on the market. Recently this digital drawing tool received a wonderful update. 

With garDsign's drawing tool, which has already been used to design more than a hundred thousand gardens, the green professional easily creates a total design, including things like a watering and lighting plan. The tool has a 3D function that lets you preview and take a digital walk through the new garden, so to speak. A quote, planting list and a sun and shade simulation are also among its many features. Recently, garDsign has made a number of modernizations and optimizations in response to requests from its users.   

Important to Van de Pol is the user-friendliness of this drawing program. "As a landscaper, I know exactly in what order you want to think things out and enter them when creating a design." As a result, the tool has a logical structure. We have developed the program considerably and increased its functionality, listening carefully to the wishes of our users. For example, customers indicated that they miss certain models, but larger wishes were also considered. Think of the import of plot data. The latter ensures that you can now easily import land registry data, map or aerial photo to scale in your garden design, as well as compare it with each other. "This saves measuring work and drawing in yard boundaries separately."

With the functionality Lighting Planner, one can provide the garden design with a comprehensive lighting plan in just a few steps. Both functional and mood lighting can be added. "With one click you can add a power supply and place lamps where you want. And when the lighting plan is ready, a corresponding cable plan and an order list automatically rolls out. We have also fine-tuned this functionality. For example, we recently added more types of lamps to the program."

Thanks to the Plant Encyclopedia in the drawing program, you can create a precise planting plan or have it generated automatically. And calculating the required water points is child's play. One only needs to know the water pressure and the presence of a source, and with a few presses of a button the entire garden is then digitally supplied with the appropriate irrigation. Appropriate to the watering areas such as borders, the vegetable garden and the lawn, the program calculates exactly the right number of sprinklers and pipes. 

In the 3D beta version, light, sun and shade have been improved, including their adjustability. This has made the garden design visually even more tangible. "Navigation has also been optimized by the ability to view the design in a bird's eye view. And we have responded to users' desire to have the choice of whether or not to display items such as tables and chairs."
