Installing or updating garden lighting in maintenance and renovation gardens offers plenty of opportunities for gardeners, they believe at in-lite. Especially now that fewer new gardens are being built due to the decreasing number of new construction projects. At the Groene Sector Vakbeurs, the garden lighting manufacturer therefore emphasizes the growth opportunities within this segment.
"We want to alert gardeners that their work is going to shift from construction to more maintenance and renovation," says Marc Houtsma, International Business Manager at in-lite. "We offer them nice resources for installing lighting in existing gardens. Maintenance has always been the foundation for the landscaper and it is precisely within that aspect that they can be innovative. This sometimes requires a different mindset. For example, if you have been doing the maintenance of a garden for ten years, you can easily create a trial setup with a transformer (HUB) and an outdoor spotlight (SCOPE) to highlight a tree. That way you show the customer what lighting can do and inspire them to explore more."
To support green professionals in this, in-lite offers demo cases. With these, they can easily show the effect of lighting. Houtsma: "Installing lighting in an existing garden is easy with our products because we work with a low-voltage system. The cables do not have to be buried deep and can even be above the ground. This makes it easy to run a cable in an existing garden. At most, the landscaper has to dig a shallow trench near a path."
All in-lite fixtures are easy to install and can be connected directly to the cable with an easy lock. This makes the installation of spotlights particularly easy, but also offers the flexibility to place lighting in various places, such as on fences or between plantings. In addition to gardens without lighting, there are of course also gardens in which some lighting has already been installed. "Then you can check, for example, whether the transformer is still up to date. Or advise the customer about upgrading to our smart system, which allows all lighting to be controlled via phone. Smart lighting is becoming the norm. It allows users not only to turn lights on and off, but also to adjust colors and dim them remotely."
In addition to demo cases, in-lite offers gardeners other tools to support them in selling garden lighting. "For example, marketing materials are available, such as flyers that gardeners can send along with offers to inform customers about lighting demos. Also, gardeners can request lighting plans from in-lite LAB." Currently, in-lite even offers free 2D lighting plans to support the sales process.
Houtsma looks ahead positively to the Green Sector Trade Fair. "Hardenberg is the starting shot of the new season. It is often said that manufacturers have to come to a fair with novelties, but is that still true? What matters to us is the contact with colleagues and the exchange of knowledge. At this fair we can network well, especially with activities such as the competition gardens in which we participate and the sustainability square. And the discerning visitor will still find plenty of novelties."
And the networking doesn't stop there for in-lite. Just last November, the garden lighting manufacturer celebrated its 25th anniversary with a big party for dealers and business associates.
