Europe Forestry has had its own line of Europe Chippers, Europe Grinders and Europe Shredders for 23 years and, since last year, Europe Debarkers. With its own research and development department and with its own production sites in Stegeren and Marienberg (Overijssel), Europe Forestry BV makes machines from 14 to 1,000 hp, processing wood with a diameter of 140 to 1,000mm.
"In developing all of our machines, we have specific parameters that always come back," says owner Jan Veurink of Europe Forestry. "Here, the whole chain is as strong as its weakest link. 'Durability through longevity' is the first priority. Long service life is achieved by manufacturing with the greatest precision (modular construction) and by using high-quality components with a 'safety factor' of 150 percent or higher. Specifically, this means that if an axle in a given machine must be able to legally support 1,750 kg, we use an axle that can support at least 2,500 kg."
The second focus is "service and usability. Veurink: "Our machines simply last longer. Selling one machine even the worst manufacturer can do, but the customer only comes back if he is helped immediately with service and parts in case of breakdowns." For this reason, Europe Forestry prefers to use components made close to home in Europe and the Netherlands.
In simplicity the master shows himself, is the motto of Europe Forestry. Veurink: "Where we have a fourteen-page parts book, our competitors come with a two hundred-page book. If someone needs a lot of words or pages to explain machines, something is just not right."
Veurink: "We use roughly one-third fewer parts. For example, we work with Giovanni Venturi's invention: compressor blades on both sides of the chopping drum blow air through the rejuvenation of the pipe, which works like a carburetor. Thus the chips are sucked along undamaged by the pipe. We use no unnecessary shafts, levers, bearings, hinges, siphons, feed screws and blowers. And we use only the best of the best, for both hardware and software. Like strenx steel 700, which is twice as strong as steel 350, making the machines much lighter. For example, chipper EC 640 with feed of 600 x 400 mm and a 200 hp caterpillar engine , including crane and galvanized tandem chassis, weighs only 3500 kg."
In the area of software, Europe Forestry cooperates with Kramp in Varsseveld. "One can no longer do without the other. What does the best and strongest chipper bring, if the software does not regulate the supply and the customer constantly sees stops in the pipe because the no stress becomes active?
The company is also making strides in the field of electrification. For example, we hope to expect Europe Chippers powered by Tesla/ Deutz in the near future. Why only now? "At Tesla, Model S can now be charged at 1,570 km/h and the engines deliver 1020 HP. We don't want to bore our customers with a chipper that has only a third of the capacity of an equivalent diesel-powered chipper or with loss of working hours because charging takes far too long. At Europe Forestry, the latest electric drive should never become the weakest link in the chain. And together with Tesla and/or Deutz we are again using the best of the best..."
