Lindenbosch Tuinarchitectuur and Koninklijke Ginkel Groep were named Green Professional of the Year yesterday. This happened during the 100th anniversary celebrated by Koninklijke VHG in the AFAS theater in Leusden. Lindenbosch Tuinarchitectuur was the winner in the Garden category, while Koninklijke Ginkel Groep won in the category The Living Indoor Building (formerly interior planting). Minister for Nature and Nitrogen Christianne van der Wal presented the awards to both winners. The Green Professional of the Year competition is an initiative of Royal Association of Horticulturists and Green Suppliers (VHG) to highlight expertly designed and constructed green projects.
The judges were very enthusiastic about the compact family garden realized by Lindenbosch Garden Architecture in an area of 60 square meters. 'This well thought out and excellently executed entry is a delightful family garden for all ages and very interesting as a source of inspiration for the general public.' The judges also praised the efforts of entrepreneur Sjoerd van der Linden. 'This entrepreneur does everything himself: from design to implementation and maintenance. He is well able to take his customers along in the development process, optimally translating customer wishes into beautiful solutions.'
"This award is truly the crowning glory of 10 years of independent entrepreneurship," said Van der Linden. "I entered the competition to show what you can achieve in an average-sized garden, with an eye for the wishes of the users and applying sustainable green solutions. I'm pleasantly surprised to have won prizes for that."
Other nominated projects in the Garden category:
The huge green wall that Royal Ginkel Group realized in the offices of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam, the jury found a wonderful example of what a skilled green entrepreneur can do for the corporate market. From the report: 'Both where the experience is concerned, and because of the state-of-the-art technology required to build, live and maintain this complex wall, this is a unique project.'
Bart Dijkman, commercial manager at Royal Ginkel Group considers it a very nice honor. "This insane project came about thanks to the space given by my employer, the craftsmanship of my colleagues and the trust of the client. After the EILO award we won for this, this award gives our company even more of a name as a specialist in knowledge-intensive projects, including indoor greenery."
Other nominated projects in the The Living Building Indoor category (formerly Interior Planting):
Participating green companies have had considerable patience for the results. The competition started in early 2020, but the corona crisis caused a delay in the course of the competition. By the end of 2020, the nominees were known, then it was waiting for an opportunity to announce and highlight the winners in front of a sizable audience. The 100th anniversary celebrated by Royal VHG provided a wonderful stage for this.
