UNI-Complete is a surveying system that helps green professionals, among others, measure gardens accurately and quickly. But initially, that was not marXact's target market at all. "We started for the cable line and fiber optic industry. We found out through word of mouth that landscapers were looking for a way to do their work easier. And that was a fluke for us. By now, about 25% of our customers are in the green sector," says marketing manager Jeroen Methorst.
Slowly the summer season is approaching. This is, of course, the time when people want their gardens to look beautiful. Therefore, it is important for landscapers and garden designers to start preparations on time. "During the winter period, you see green professionals making all the preparations so that they can start working in full force in the spring. But how do you schedule all that? And how can you best arrange it? Our accurate surveying system helps with that," says account manager Jürgen Everts.
"Using a drawing program connected to our surveying system, green professionals design a complete 3D garden. If you know how many new trees you want to plant, and you know how long it will take you to do that, you can also make your quote tighter. After all, you know exactly how much you have to buy and how much time you will spend installing them," Methorst said.
"With our system, gardeners make the area where they are going to work transparent. They measure the total plot, so they know what the area is and how many trees need to be in it, for example. Those are the basic data. They then process that to make a design out of it. Actually it is an addition to the preparatory work they are already doing. To then start working it out in the spring. They make it transparent in an easy way, so that the rest of the company can also immediately start their work," Everts explains.
"Our customers are by no means just landscapers. That's why we try to integrate all the good things from the different branches. This makes it easier to use not just for one, but for all branches," says Everts. Methorst adds: "We are also currently working on an app that will make surveying even easier. With the app you can, for example, make updates more easily and also view your design without the receiver next to it. The surveying app makes working for landscapers even easier. There are more possibilities and synchronization with their own cloud environment is better. Projects and data they have stored there can be viewed right away. Of course, developing the app is a time-consuming job because everything that is in the current software now has to be built from scratch and, in addition, we want to integrate new drawing programs."
With UNI-Complete you design detailed drawings, schedules and quotes in no time. "If you can handle a smartphone then you can also measure in. With this product we have focused very much on its ease of use and independence. Companies are not dependent on external parties who have to set up the device or explain how it works. It is one product for everyone," Methorst concludes.
