"Electric weed and exotics control, that's what we stand for," says Gerrit van Nieuwenhuizen of RAMM. At GroenTechniek Holland, RAMM is showing different ways of doing so.
RAMM (Reliable Agricultural & Municipal Machines) introduced the English Rootwave Pro in the Netherlands in 2019 to control Japanese knotweed. Gerrit van Nieuwenhuizen, founder of RAMM, says: "This is the only method that kills plants from the inside, by using their natural resistance."
"The Rootwave Pro is a handheld electro-thermal weed killer that drives one to one and a half amps through the plant," Van Nieuwenhuizen explains. "The plant's natural resistance converts the electrical energy into heat, so that the plant's cell walls are inflated. This is followed by accelerated growth, with thinner stems. Then you repeat the treatment. The plant becomes exhausted and does not return."
"Electric weed and exotics control is what we stand for," says Van Nieuwenhuizen. In addition to the Rootwave Pro, RAMM will also show the Oeliatec at the fair, designed for weeds on (semi-)paving. "An environmentally friendly electric weed killer that uses drops of boiling water. It has five major advantages. It has an electric pump so it makes no noise. The modulating boiler is always on, so no soot plumes come out, so there is no pollution. It consumes only 5 liters of water per minute thanks to its special spout. Operation is easy with a touch screen. And it has a beautiful design."
During GroenTechniek Holland, RAMM will also show the Lintrac 130 with the Optima 57T mowing arm: the latest version of the Noremat mowing arm. Van Nieuwenhuizen: "This is a maneuverable tractor with excellent visibility of the mowing arm thanks to the specially designed glass door. It is compact and can therefore get to many places. Come by and admire!"
