User says. 'I really like this electric compact tractor'

The demand for Knegt's electric compact tractors is enormous. Logical, given the favorable price level combined with the increasing demand for sustainable machines that are low-noise, low-vibration and do not emit harmful gases. In January, the
J&E Sports to purchase two tractors. They are the European market leader in the construction and maintenance of artificial turf sports fields and landscaping. We asked company manager John van Gennip about their experience: "The tractors are very good and the long working time is ideal for us."

J&E Sports has been active in the artificial grass market for over thirty years, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Annually they are responsible for more than 1,000,000 m² of seasonal artificial grass. In January, Knegt purchased two electric tractors (45HP) with an additional battery pack "The market asks us to work in a sustainable way as much as possible. We decided to follow this up and are working, together with our chain partners, on the development of sustainable synthetic turf systems and recycling solutions. We are also minimizing our use of materials and limiting our transport movements. And in the area of machinery, our choice fell on electric. Therefore, in addition to the tractors from Knegt, we also purchased an electric mini-loader."

"We like the electric compact tractors. We had a small defect with a circuit board at the beginning, but Knegt quickly fixed that. For us it is important that we can work with them for about eight to ten hours, and they do that with ease. That's also why our choice fell on Knegt. These were the first electric tractors we came across with the option of a dual battery."

"Especially for the fact that this tractor has an interchangeable battery, the price is very interesting. In addition, we were able to take advantage of a subsidy scheme and tax benefit." Hans Heijmans, director and co-owner of Knegt Quality Tractors, adds: "'Our price level is at or even below that of comparable compact diesel tractors of the well-known brands. This is possible because, in terms of innovation, we are far ahead of the larger tractor manufacturers who focus mainly on the heavier models. An electric tractor at this price can therefore not be found anywhere in the world."

Since J&E Sports values quality, it works with such fine parties as FieldTurf, Domo Sports Grass and Antea Sport. Van Gennip: "Although we are very satisfied with the tractor, a slightly lighter model would be desirable. With artificial turf fields we work on an unbound sub-base, so to make sure the flatness of this is not disturbed, a less heavy tractor would be just a little bit better." Heijmans: "Our ambitions are high. We want to scale up to a threefold increase in the next few years, both in total numbers and in the proportion of electric tractors. In terms of innovation, we just want to become the Tesla of the compact tractor."

Heijmans continues: "It is of course wonderful for us to hear such positive experiences. We were at the Sports Facility Fair in Houten on March 7 and it was a great success. Companies similar to J&E Sports responded with enormous enthusiasm."

Knegt produces two electric models of tractors: with 45hp or 55hp. A 65hp version is in the works. Together with a wide range of implements and accessories, there is an electric tractor for every job.
