Innovations in soil drilling technology

Auger and pile rammer specialist EuroGate International is continuously expanding the package with new innovations. New features are constantly being added to make work easier and more comfortable. In addition, stricter environmental requirements play an important role in developments.

"We have been supplying General Equipment augers for more than 15 years," says sales manager Pieter Jansen. "Of these, we have already sold more than 10,000 throughout Europe. The manufacturer recently replaced the M240H with the M242H. This one-man auger is equipped with a Honda GX35 four-stroke gasoline engine. This machine is not only powerful, but also more environmentally friendly. Especially since the two-stroke versions often no longer comply with the stricter environmental legislation. Ease of use has also been considered: the auger is equipped with a locking device. If the machine gets stuck in the ground, you push in the lockpin and you can easily rotate the auger out of the ground in a counter-clockwise direction. So excavation is no longer necessary." The auger drills up to a diameter of 203 mm wide. 

General Equipment is also taking a step forward with the new two-man auger M332H, formerly model M330H. This robust machine comes standard with locking gear and Power-FLEX control levers. These arms, made of plastic that better absorbs vibrations, not only offer ergonomic advantages, but also contribute to smoother operation. Instead of the traditional straight steel tubes, the control levers are curved, improving the overall user experience. The machine is equipped with a Honda GVX160 engine and a 1.375-inch hexagonal drill connection.

Another player, auger manufacturer Digga, is introducing the MM-14K hydraulic drill motor for installing screw anchors. "It fits on a mini excavator from 1,000 pounds to eight tons, but has a maximum power of 14,000 newton meters at 205 bar. The number of liters determines the rotation speed. This model is flexible for different applications with various screw anchors. This very compact machine is also ideal for use in combination with an articulated loader," said Jansen. 

This screw foundation machine is equipped with a compact high-torque gearbox and a high-efficiency Danfoss/Digga geroler hydraulic motor. The compact and lightweight design provides great ease of movement.

In addition to augers and pole rammers, EuroGate International also supplies a complete range of Fuel Proof brand tanks and trailers. Just recently, the 900 liter FuelCube 900 liter Solar fuel tank was added to the range. "This innovative tank features a solar charger mounted on the lid. This charges the battery constantly. Cables are therefore no longer needed. The steel tanks are fully approved for transporting diesel on the highway. The tank can be lifted and stacked even when full of fuel."  

The new features do indicate that manufacturers such as General Equipment, Digga and Fuel Proof are continually developing to keep up with the times.
