Launching automatic S40 quick change

That an Engcon turns an excavator into a multi-tool is well known by now. "With our rotary tilters you can work faster and more precisely. They are effective, flexible, safe and improve the efficiency of the excavator. What is new is that with the launch of the automatic S40 quick coupler, automatic coupling and uncoupling of the tiltrotator or implement is now also possible for mini excavators," said Mascha Verweij, working in sales and marketing at Engcon.

Engcon is a renowned manufacturer in the field of swivel tilt pieces and everything that goes with them. Verweij: "The heart of our products is the swivel arm. So we don't supply excavators ourselves, but the 'wrist joint' at the bottom of the arm with which you can tilt a bucket or other implement up to 45 degrees and turn it infinitely. There is an Engcon for any crane between 1.5 and 33 tons."

According to Verweij, the pivot pieces are the foundation. "But it doesn't stop there. We also supply matching automatic quick couplings, a whole range of mechanical and hydraulic implements, buckets and GPS control. We also have solutions to prevent operators from making mistakes when disconnecting and connecting buckets. Our proportional DC2 control system allows all tiltrotator functions to be controlled simultaneously with Engcon joysticks. Optionally, it is even possible to have the complete control of the machine via the joysticks. In short; a whole range of tools and implements for excavators." 

In road construction, turntables for mobile cranes between 14 and 19 tons have become indispensable. "Even larger crawlers use them. In the market for excavators up to ten tons, however, development is rapid; they are becoming more and more powerful. As a result, a smaller machine suffices versus a larger one before. Very interesting for landscapers and green specialists. The investment in an Engcon for such a compact machine is considerable, but in practice quickly pays for itself. You save time, limit machine movements and need fewer people and hiring equipment. And with the gripper you can deftly pick up curbs and stones or move trees. So you can work much more independently." 

Recently, the S40 automatic quick coupler was launched, for machines from 2 to 6 tons. "It is a fully automatic quick coupler that allows you to automatically connect electricity, hydraulics and central lubrication. So you don't have to leave your cab to connect your bucket, swivel attachment or hydraulic implement. That used to be an option, but we choose safety and comfort for the operator as standard. A lot of time saved, you don't have to mess around with hoses. In short, a rotary attachment for a smaller machine is a smart investment.
