Focusing on European brands, MDS' catalog consists of 95 percent Italian products. Brands such as Nibbi, CARONI, Negri and Gamo sound familiar to agricultural and garden professionals. "In 2023, we added the BlueBird brand to our portfolio," Van Wal confirmed. "We are very proud of the fact that MDS is the exclusive distributor for the entire Benelux for the complete product range of BlueBird Industries. In this way we are taking our product range and associated customer service one level higher."

Choice of hybrid and full electric mode

With electric motors ranging from 80V-50Ah to 80V-125Ah, BlueBird's tele-guided roadside mowers are excellent for demanding mowing tasks, including the removal of tall and dense grasses, brush and brambles. Van Wal: "The four roadside mower models - the FM 23-53, FM 23-70, E-FM 23-60 and E-FM 23-65 - offer a choice of hybrid and full electric mode. This combines great working autonomy, maximum attention to sustainability and quiet operation during a mowing session. Safety and ease of use are central to every BlueBird roadside mower: because you can control the machine from up to 200 meters away, as an operator you always work in safe conditions. A convenient emergency button - both on the remote control and on the roadside mower - also ensures that persons, animals and/or objects nearby are safe."

BlueBird's roadside mowers also score very high in terms of maneuverability and power. Van Wal explains, "Thanks to tracks, each machine maintains excellent grip on uneven terrain. Thanks in part to a lowered center of gravity, a BlueBird roadside mower can handle slopes of up to 45 degrees, which gives you unique application possibilities as an operator. For example, these machines are indispensable for cutting grass in difficult accessible areas, such as solar park fields or sites where pipelines run. Handsome performance values

Van Wal lists a few more handsome performance values: "Both the FM 23-53, FM 23-70, E-FM 23-60 and E-FM 23-65 achieve a speed of 47 meters per minute. Via the remote control you can adjust the cutting height from 30 to 120 millimeters. With the full electric machines, you achieve a working range of three to four hours - with the E-FM 23-60 - to six to seven hours with the more powerful E-FM 26-65. In terms of charging time, you should allow for two and four hours, respectively."
