Mobile bio-shredder optimized for Benelux gardens

In the never-ending search for the right machines for their customers, Machines De Schutter likes to put the Italians from Negri in the spotlight, and more specifically the R230 bio-shredder. And there are some very specific reasons for this.

Luyten: "Indeed, this fantastic machine actually came about at our request. It is not the first mobile shredder Negri puts on the market, but it is the first on wheels. The gardens in Italy are usually a lot bigger than here, and tracks are ideal for that. But for our usual smaller gardens in the Benelux this shredder is more than ideal. And they are not just any wheels, but traction wheels. With which you can also get up and down small slopes without any problems. Combine that it their patented wheel movements - 'Gentle Lawn Steering' - that controls tire slippage on bends and you can be sure that any damage from the greenery by driving the chipper is kept to the absolute minimum. Finally, in terms of maneuvering, the center of gravity was also kept very low, which increases stability significantly, so it is basically no problem at all to drive this chipper in exactly the right place."

"I must also say that the chopping efficiency is very high, "a compact powerhouse," Luyten continues. "Negri itself recommends maximum 11 cm chopping capacity, but feel free to make that 13 cm. The R230 also easily reaches 10 m³/hour. Which is great for such a compact machine. Because the shredder clocks in at a maximum width of 75 centimeters, you can even get through the smallest gates with that. Especially with the intuitive controls that make steering super easy. The machine is also equipped with the - for Negri typical - anti-stress system. This is on all their larger machines, but now they have provided it here as well. In terms of drive, there is a very powerful Honda GX630 (2 cylinder) under it."

"By default, the machine comes with a rotor equipped with mobile hammers and blades. But you can also order (or rent) the machine with a rotor only with mobile hammers. In terms of transport, everything was actually thought of as well. The shredder is already quite compact, but it can be made even smaller for transport. To do this, you fold back both the blower pipe and the feed nozzle. This makes the R230 lower and shorter. I asked for anchoring eyes. I believe that no machine can be transported properly if it cannot be anchored. And they listened. The Negri R230 was equipped with four anchoring points so that it can be lashed down securely. A more than successful and complete chopper, as far as I am concerned," Luyten concludes.
