About two years ago, Armigo BV introduced a new weed brush, succeeding the Armigo Triplo. This Armigo Multiplo, however, integrates two functions into one. A click system allows you to swap brushes for cutting wires, making the Multiplo not only multifunctional, but also user-friendly. "With the push of a button you swap the 3 brushes for mowing wires, allowing you to quickly switch between different tasks," says Wilko Regnerus, director-owner of Armigo BV.
Wilko Regnerus became the owner of Armigo BV when he took over the company from a business partner last year. The original owner had developed the Armigo brushes, but didn't have enough time for marketing activities. "That was a shame, because the company had real potential. He asked if it wasn't something for me. This gave me the opportunity to build the company further." His vision and commitment soon paid off. The active marketing and expansion into new markets such as Scandinavia and Austria is reflected in the sales figures. "Armigo is a thoroughly Dutch product, and we want to make that known worldwide," he said.
With the Armigo Triplo, the company had already developed an innovative product. The brush head can be easily mounted on all types of brushcutters. A convenient click system makes changing the brushes a simple job. "I often hear back that users regularly fumble with the cutting head of the brushcutter. With the Armigo brush head, you mount steel wires in it easily. That's a real advantage."
With the Armigo Multiplo came an additional function. This brush head has a dual function and can both cut grass and brush weeds. The same click system as that of the Triplo makes it easy to replace the steel wires with trim wires. In addition, the Armigo Multiplo's steel wires are available in four different thicknesses. "We have continued to innovate the Armigo Multiplo by introducing 8 and 10 mm wires to the market in addition to the 12 and 14 mm steel wires. These have been specially developed for use with battery-powered brushcutters. The 12 and 14 mm wires are ideally suited for heavier brushcutters." An additional advantage of this multipurpose head is that you can use the trimming wires to brush delicate pavement, which the steel wires are again not so suitable for.
Another innovation is in the pipeline for the Armigo Multiplo. "At the moment we are developing the aluminum head also in a plastic version. The advantage of a plastic head is that it has about half the weight of the aluminum version, which makes it ideal for use with a battery-powered machine." The plastic head is currently still in the testing phase.
The multifunctional head of the Armigo Multiplo seems to be one of a kind. "I don't know of any comparable product that combines these two functions," says Wilko. The users Wilko speaks to are also enthusiastic about this Multiplo. This is reflected in the sales figures, Wilko says. "We hadn't even started our marketing yet or the product was already selling. Users are enthusiastic about the performance and ease of use. At the push of a button you swap wires in no time. A child can do the laundry."
