Due to the celebration of their 50th anniversary, Hitachi Construction Machinery Netherlands had to miss out last year, but this time they are back in action at the Groen- en AgroTechniek Holland fair. A great opportunity to also show the brand new midi-excavator, the ZX95-7. "Sales recently started and already the positive reactions are pouring in. In particular, the functionality and comfort of the youngest member of the Zaxis-7 series is being appreciated," says Evert van den Broek, Manager Marketing and Communication at Hitachi CM Nederland.
"The first users are responding with tremendous enthusiasm. We therefore have high expectations of the ZX95-7. The compact excavator has therefore received a major metamorphosis. For example, the cabin has been completely redesigned, with much more attention paid to the comfort and safety of the operator and his surroundings."
Compared to its predecessor, the cab has become a lot more spacious and standard features include air conditioning, an ergonomic driver's seat and a large LED control screen. Safety cameras around the machine ensure that the operator can keep a close eye on his surroundings. Van den Broek: "The synchronized movement between the seat and the console ensures that the operator feels less tired after a working day. The cab is now much more in line with the heavier machines and are so comfortable that you can pleasantly work a whole day in it. Storage areas have even been thought of to keep food and drink cool, ideal on hot days."
The excavators are more fuel-efficient, but do not compromise on performance. Equipped with a 50.4 (69 hp) turbocharged engine, the machines offer more stability and 4% more digging power compared to the previous series 10%. The new Stage V-compliant engine, which does not require an SCR system, reduces life-cycle costs. AdBlue, filter changes and associated maintenance are thus a thing of the past. "And with an all-new ECO gauge, operators can control fuel consumption, which is obviously better for the environment, but also provides fine savings."
The ZX95-7 comes in two different models: the ZX95-US-7 and the ZX95-USB-7.
The US version has a fixed boom next to the cab, while the USB version has a front-mounted swing boom. This swing boom is available as a monog boom and a two-piece adjustable boom. Van den Broek: "The variety of specifications ensures that this machine meets the requirements of any job site. Working in tight spaces, for example, is no problem at all because the machine has a compact size and small turning radius. But the distance between the bucket and the blade is also shorter. The option of the floating blade, which by the way can be hydraulically adjusted to an angle of 25 degrees, in turn makes leveling and levelling a simple job. In addition, we have made several improvements so that attachments can now be changed even faster."
Hitachi is among one of the largest manufacturers in the world. "We see that the industry likes working with our machines because of their high reliability, low maintenance and high residual value." At the show, they are displaying a wide range of their offerings. "We bring machines ranging in weight from one to ten tons. We also want to show the ZX150W-7 mobile excavator, which is very popular among landscapers and contractors because of its mobility and versatility. And, of course, we will bring some electrically powered machines, because the demand for emission-free work is increasing all the time," Van den Broek concludes.
