'Everything to simplify the work of the green professional'
Positec is taking advantage of the Green Sector Trade Fair to introduce Kress innovations to dealers, says David Mooibroek, Regional Sales Director Central Europe at Positec. "We are introducing two new, innovative projects at the fair: our battery platform and our unique wireless robotic mower technology. Both solutions simplify the work of green professionals."
Kress supplies battery-powered tools and robotic mowers to professional landscapers through specialty dealers. The advantage for dealers is that the brand provides stable margins and revolutionary technologies that capitalize on the trend toward electric work and robotization. So far, not every professional dares to work with battery-powered machines. Mooibroek: "They think, for example, that charging takes too much time and that the lifespan of batteries is too short. Also, batteries are often expensive to buy. With our 8-minute CyberPack series, we want to convince them of the opposite."
Kress's 8-minute CyberSystem batteries charge fully in just eight minutes, have a service life up to 10 times longer than traditional batteries, and are not inferior to gasoline engines in terms of power. Due to advanced cell technology, the battery does not heat up, so it does not need to cool down before charging. Mooibroek: "This solution lasts five times longer than lithium polymer cells and even 10 times longer than lithium-ion batteries. When the battery is connected, the accompanying app keeps track of diagnostic data about the battery, among other things. The app also provides theft protection and allows users to have all the information for managing all their batteries. By keeping the price of the battery low, we lower the threshold for the gardener." The batteries can be used in a variety of cordless machines: from grass trimmers and brush cutters to chainsaws, backhoes and self-propelled mowers.
Kress' innovative RTKn series robotic mowers mow large lawns accurately and efficiently without a boundary wire or fixed reference antenna. Useful for the landscaper working on large areas, such as sports fields or golf courses. Mooibroek: "We believe that half of the landscaper's work can be taken over by robots. And that is also necessary with the current shortage of personnel. Until now, robotic lawnmowers are mainly used by consumers and we want to change that with our new range. With robotic lawnmowers with boundary wire, the dealer often has to adjust the system and the existing systems without boundary wire are often not suitable for mowing large areas. Our Mission RTKn series of robotic mowers offers a solution to both problems. To establish a virtual boundary, the user simply briefly walks along the edge of the lawn with a trolley, and the system transmits the signal." The unmanned mowers are ideal for working on large lawns. They work as accurately and efficiently as consumer mowers. The so-called dead-roading algorithm ensures accuracy even in places where lines of sight to the satellites are blocked, for example by trees.
Finally, Moving Action Plan (MAP) technology ensures efficient mowing, and the mowers are also equipped with a patented obstacle avoidance system and automatic leveling blade system, which adjusts to uneven terrain.
